If Its Good Enough for The Congress, It's Good Enough For Me

Candidates for President on both sides of the aisle are accusing each other of trashing the Medicare system and robbing seniors of the benefits they have funded.  "Medicare is bloated," they claim. "We cannot support the system without positive change."

Ryan is suggesting a voucher system, where seniors can purchase insurance and look for the most competitive rates, even suggesting that our quest for coverage take us from state to state.  The Democrats are pushing for stronger control of any Federal program they can lay their hands on and all of us know how successful this can be!

Frankly, Are They Kidding?

Does anyone imagine that suddenly our benevolent insurance companies are going to offer first fair and then competitive rates for insurance coverage that will be covered in total by a voucher?  People, please!  We bailed out the banking industry and now it is almost necessary to hand over your first born to get even a car loan.  Can we believe that the insurance companies will suddenly sacrifice profits and provide coverage that pays 80% of medical costs and procedures?  Seriously?

I say, forget this nonsense and let all Seniors be covered by the same plan that covers members of Congress.  They have possibly the most comprehensive health care plan on the planet.  No paperwork, no vouchers, no phone calls or soliciting of quotes.  They are elected, they are covered. End of story.
